Bowl-ed and Beautiful: Teriyaki Beef Bowls

This Teriyaki Beef Bowl feels like takeout without the overcharge and almost as minimal effort.

Inspired by a Pad Kra Pao recipe, it’s savory, saucy, and a touch spicy. AND a great way to get your greens in, I use an entire bag of spinach! Just call me Popeye.

I love this recipe because its one -pot and it hits every single time. We’ve had it with fluffy rice, flat noodles, and even just a bowl and a spoon. Top it with a fried egg and thank me later!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 1 bag of spinach
  • ½ bag fresh green beans, trimmed & chopped
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 3–4 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How to make it:

  1. In a large skillet or wok, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the chopped shallot and cook until softened and fragrant.
  3. Pour in the oyster sauce, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, and beef broth. Keep stirring so everyone gets nice and acquainted.
  4. Toss in the green beans and cook for a few minutes until they’re tender but still have a little snap.
  5. Give the spinach a rough chop and then pour into pan, stir until wilted.
  6. Taste and adjust with extra sriracha, soy, or salt if needed.
  7. Serve over steamed rice, toss with wide noodles, or scoop straight into a bowl. Top with a fried egg and chili crisp oil if you’re feeling fancy!

That’s it! Happy cooking!
