Because the best part of the Superbowl is the food, right? And Usher performing at halftime this year, of course. These simple snacks were thrown together in less than two hours and are timeless faves – cheesy beef rotel dip, hot honey chicken wings, and hawaiian roll sliders, oh my!
There was actually no recipe involved here either, I just went off vibes and what I wanted on my tastebuds. It was actually pretty fun!
The dip:
-Brown ground beef and onions, add one can of rotel tomatoes, simmer for a few more minutes and season to taste. Add about 16 oz of cubed Velveeta cheese and continue to simmer until everything has properly melted and married each other. Serve with tortilla chips and voila!
The wings:
-Season chicken wings with a squeeze or two of honey, pinch of powdered ginger, cayenne, salt, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic. I marinated these for about an hour before cooking. Bake for an hour at 375 degrees and flip halfway through. Spicy perfection!
The sliders:
-Slice Hawaiian rolls in half and layer with your choice of cheese and deli meat. We used provolone and cheddar, peppered turkey and pepperoni. Topped with a mix of minced garlic, melted butter, parsley, and flaky salt. Popped it in the oven at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.
YUM! This trinity of deliciousness is a light lift and sure to be a hit. Give it a try and let me know if you made any tweaks of your own to my freestyled recipes.
